Anan Mutabazi is the Founding Partner of McFord Advocates. He has more than 14 years of experience advising governments, multinational corporations, financial institutions, investors, and private companies on complex transactions across East Africa.

His practice focuses on corporate finance, banking and finance, project finance, mergers and acquisitions, infrastructure, energy, private equity, and cross-border commercial transactions. He combines extensive legal knowledge with strong financial and commercial insight to deliver practical, business-focused solutions.

Qualified to practise in Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, and Tanzania, Anan provides coordinated cross-border legal counsel on transactions involving multiple East African jurisdictions.

Ampaire Tumwebaze is Managing Partner of McFord Advocates. He has led the firm since 2016, building a partner-led practice that combines commercial judgment with rigorous legal work for companies, investors, and institutions.

His work centres on corporate and commercial strategy: company structures, transactions, governance, and the practical decisions clients face when growing, financing, or reorganising a business in Uganda.

Clients value his accessibility, clear advice, and insistence that every matter has a senior owner from first instruction through to closing or resolution. He is based at the firm’s chambers at AfriCourts, Buganda Road, Kampala.

Mahad Kakooza is the Interim Managing Partner of the firm and heads its Land and Conveyancing Practice. He specialises in advising individuals, businesses, financial institutions, and property developers on all aspects of land transactions, including acquisitions and disposals, due diligence, title verification, leasing, property financing, and the preparation and registration of conveyancing instruments.

With a meticulous approach to legal practice and a strong understanding of Uganda’s land law regime, Mahad is committed to delivering practical, commercially sound, and legally secure solutions that protect clients’ interests and facilitate seamless property transactions.

Beyond his core practice, Mahad has a broad understanding of Islamic finance and Sharia family law, enabling him to advise clients on matters requiring both legal expertise and sensitivity to Islamic legal principles. He is recognised for his professionalism, strategic thinking, and unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional client service.

Christopher Mwesigye is an Associate Partner at McFord Advocates. He is the head of the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department as well as Administration. His practice focuses mainly on civil, commercial, and land litigation. Beyond litigation, Christopher advises on statutory and regulatory compliance with key government institutions including URA and URSB.

Christopher brings significant litigation experience before the Courts of Judicature and various tribunals, and is committed to early resolution through mediation and ADR wherever that serves the client’s objectives.

He holds an LL.B (Hons) from Uganda Christian University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre. He also holds a Certificate in the Leaders’ Mentorship Program from the Africa Leadership Institute. He is an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda and a member of the Uganda Law Society and the East Africa Law Society.

Teddy Namukwaya is a Legal Associate at McFord Advocates. She supports corporate and general practice work with meticulous research, drafting, and coordination across client matters.

Her day-to-day role includes company and commercial documentation, due diligence support, compliance filings, and preparing materials that help senior counsel move transactions and advisory work forward with precision.

She trained at the Law Development Centre and is committed to clear communication and disciplined file management so clients receive timely, well-organised support from the team.

Mwesigwa Joshua Warren is a Legal Associate at McFord Advocates, where his practice spans legal drafting, compliance review, contract analysis, and advisory work for a diverse client base across corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters. He conducts in-depth legal research and due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other commercial transactions, and regularly advises clients on their legal rights, obligations, and risk exposure, translating complex statutory and case law analysis into practical, actionable guidance.

He drafts and reviews a wide range of legal instruments, including commercial contracts, pleadings, motions, board resolutions, and formal legal opinions, and has particular experience navigating land and property law, regulatory licensing, and multi-jurisdictional transactions. Warren is known for his meticulous attention to detail, his ability to work effectively under pressure, and his commitment to delivering accurate, well-reasoned legal solutions within tight deadlines.

Before joining McFord Advocates, he worked as a Legal Research Assistant at Karungi and Partners Advocates and Solicitors in Kampala. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B Hons) from Uganda Christian University, Mukono.

Rwangoga Enoth is a commercially focused legal practitioner and Junior Associate at McFord Advocates, where he advises on a range of complex legal and transactional matters with particular emphasis on delivering strategic, business-oriented solutions.

Enoth holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from Nkumba University. His academic and professional training equips him with a strong grounding in legal analysis, regulatory interpretation, and dispute management within both domestic and evolving cross-border contexts.

His practice spans corporate and commercial law, real estate and conveyancing, infrastructure and telecommunications, and alternative dispute resolution. He regularly supports clients in structuring transactions, conducting legal due diligence, and navigating regulatory frameworks, with a clear focus on risk allocation, compliance, and value preservation. He approaches legal challenges with a strong appreciation of commercial realities, ensuring that legal strategies are aligned with clients’ broader business objectives.

He has a developing interest in infrastructure development and telecommunications law, particularly in the context of emerging markets, where legal frameworks intersect with investment, technology, and public-private partnerships. His work reflects a commitment to facilitating sustainable development and enabling efficient capital deployment.
